How We Are Failing The Younger Generations
Day after day I hear complaints from older generations that the new generation is disrespectful or just a waste of space and time. Well that may or may not be true, but let’s be honest, who’s fault is it? It’s ours! Because us, adults, failed the younger generation. We were responsible for making them into respectable human beings and we failed. Every day when we were trying to be their friends instead of their parents! That’s a fail! When we decided it was too much for their little hearts to lose in a game, so we always let them win or we didn’t keep score, but instead we gave them…

Baby Fever Anyone?
What is Baby Fever? By definition it is a “colloquial term for the intense desire to have a baby.” But what does that really mean? To parents it’s the fear of their young child wanting to become a parent at an early age. To women who want kids, it’s that time of their life that they feel this constant feeling in their gut that the time for getting pregnant is now. Some call this their “internal clock ticking.” But for others it may mean something completely different. I always heard elders saying “she’s going to get “baby fever” if she baby-sits a well-behaved child.” And I never got it, how…

The Joys of a Teething Baby
A teething baby is hard let’s get that out of the way first. But a teething baby that has their molars coming in earlier than normal, now that’s a freaking nightmare! Yup, you guessed it, that is what I’m dealing with on a daily basis right now. My son is only 16.5 months old. The dentist told us we had about 6 months before this would happen, but guess what! They were wrong!!!! All honesty I should have known, he’s done a lot of stuff early on. But I was hopeful! But now—now I have a cranky toddler who throws himself on the floor for no reason. One who won’t…

Being Christian That’s Pro-Choice, an LGBT Friend, who Drinks and Curses
So today I had someone approach me about being Christian. She said she would never have known going off my Facebook or blog posts. When I asked her what gave her the impression I wasn’t, she said it was all the opinions I have about LGBT community and the comments on abortion and the cursing in some of my posts and the biggest thing is the posts about drinking or needing a drink. I mean this lady was shocked, she even asked how Christian I am, am I just a believer or baptized and all that. Like the kind that attends church on Christmas and Easter only or a regular…

Hold ‘Em a Little Tighter
Every morning I get woken up by a happy little guy playing in his crib. All smiles while he looks into the camera and says “mama, mama” over and over. Every day he is excited to get out of his crib, get some grub and run around the house and even more excited if we leave the house to drive around town. But not today… Today was different. Today the big guy didn’t wake up until I went to wake him at 9:49. He wasn’t smiling and he wasn’t playing picaboo with his blankie. Instead he simply handed me the blanket and sat back down. When he finally stood up…

Today Was a Rough Day
How can being at home with your baby all day ever be a rough day? That’s what I used to think every time I heard a stay at home mom complaining about her life. Every time one would say, omg let me tell you….and then go into this rant about how they couldn’t do this or that because of the kids. To another stay at home mom that in turn then complains about how she didn’t want to come back from the beach house. I kid you not, I got so annoyed about them complaining and being so unhappy with what I thought was a perfect life-not working in corporate…

Watching a Child’s Mind Grow
It amazes me every day what this kid of mine does, what he learns, what personality he is developing, everything really! Like take today for instance, he woke up, had some yogurt and then we went to run errands. As long as the car was moving, he was content. He took a small broken-down box to play with him in the car and the entire time of going in and out of the car he was content as long as he could reach his broken-down box. We get home and all I have to say is nap time and he goes straight to his bedroom and waits by the changing…
