Being Christian That’s Pro-Choice, an LGBT Friend, who Drinks and Curses
So today I had someone approach me about being Christian. She said she would never have known going off my Facebook or blog posts. When I asked her what gave her the impression I wasn’t, she said it was all the opinions I have about LGBT community and the comments on abortion and the cursing in some of my posts and the biggest thing is the posts about drinking or needing a drink. I mean this lady was shocked, she even asked how Christian I am, am I just a believer or baptized and all that. Like the kind that attends church on Christmas and Easter only or a regular…

Hold ‘Em a Little Tighter
Every morning I get woken up by a happy little guy playing in his crib. All smiles while he looks into the camera and says “mama, mama” over and over. Every day he is excited to get out of his crib, get some grub and run around the house and even more excited if we leave the house to drive around town. But not today… Today was different. Today the big guy didn’t wake up until I went to wake him at 9:49. He wasn’t smiling and he wasn’t playing picaboo with his blankie. Instead he simply handed me the blanket and sat back down. When he finally stood up…

Today Was a Rough Day
How can being at home with your baby all day ever be a rough day? That’s what I used to think every time I heard a stay at home mom complaining about her life. Every time one would say, omg let me tell you….and then go into this rant about how they couldn’t do this or that because of the kids. To another stay at home mom that in turn then complains about how she didn’t want to come back from the beach house. I kid you not, I got so annoyed about them complaining and being so unhappy with what I thought was a perfect life-not working in corporate…

Watching a Child’s Mind Grow
It amazes me every day what this kid of mine does, what he learns, what personality he is developing, everything really! Like take today for instance, he woke up, had some yogurt and then we went to run errands. As long as the car was moving, he was content. He took a small broken-down box to play with him in the car and the entire time of going in and out of the car he was content as long as he could reach his broken-down box. We get home and all I have to say is nap time and he goes straight to his bedroom and waits by the changing…

The One My Soul Loves
You see a man always working and having no time for his family.I see the most amazing hard-working man who always puts his family first. Working full time during the day while running a business full time during the night. You see a man who never has time to hang out with friends.I see a man who needs to catch up on his sleep when he gets some free time because a man can only run on four hours a night sleep for only so long before his body starts shutting down on him. You see a man that is antisocial and thinks he’s better than you.I see a man…

Things I’ve learned from 2019
Every new year I like to reminisce on the year that just ended and with that reminiscing, I try to take the lessons from the previous year and make some changes for the upcoming year. And every year I like to have a theme set for the upcoming year. This theme is more like a word or motto to live by. In the years past it was happiness, strength, and love, but this year after these five big lessons I have learned from 2019, my “motto” for 2020 is “self-care,” because the one thing I learned from 2019, you have to put yourself first because at the end of the…

Loving the Small Things
As I was sitting in church today I noticed this older couple in front of me. They showed so much affection to each other that it made me jealous. And I know I shouldn’t be, but it did something to me I never thought about before. Here is this little old lady with a tiny diamond on her finger who showed so much love to her husband. More than I show to my husband who gave me a huge rock! And I know the size of diamond doesn’t matter, but here this woman who has probably been with this man since before the Great Depression and she is still so…

I Feel You!
If you are feeling overwhelmed, like nothing you do is good enough. I feel you! If you feel like all your efforts are falling on deaf ears. I feel you! If you feel like all you do is clean, but yet the house is never clean! I feel you! If you feel like you have no energy left in your body but you have no choice but to keep going. I feel you! If you feel like you are failing your child/children every single day. I feel you! If you feel like you can never get enough sleep, even when you take naps whenever the baby does. I feel you!…

New Years Resolutions
Every year we all make these resolutions that a month in we have to abandon because we just can’t do it. We wanted to change something right away instead of working towards something. We make our resolutions so extreme and unrealistic that we are setting ourselves up for failure. So, this year I have decided to do things differently. Because I am done with failing year after year with my resolutions and after the year I’ve had I need some positivity in my life. Two thousand and nineteen has been a roller coaster for our family. With many ups and downs and even some complete hoops thrown our way. And…

Christmas on a Budget
These last few months have thrown many obstacles at our family. From an abandoned rental property after it was turned into a drug house, a loss in sales at our restaurant due to the horrible weathers to many other issues that come up with owning rental properties and a franchise with employees. And it all couldn’t have come at a worse time, Christmas!!!!! But the worst part…we found out about our rental property after booking our mini vacation to Idaho for the holidays. I know our family isn’t the only family that goes through these type of setbacks right before a holiday. And I know we won’t be the last.…
