The Difference a Pregnancy Can Make
I look down at my growing body and I definitely don’t feel beautiful or gorgeous or even pretty for that matter. I look straight down and see a belly that protrudes way past my solid double D’s. And I see stretch marks all over! Wanna see my feet? I haven’t in at least four months! My face is chubby and oily, they call it “glowing,” but I call it gross! It’s never been this big or this oily! I look at the number on the scale and see a number higher than I’ve ever seen before and I just want to cry! I try on clothes in my closet and…

Hold ‘Em a Little Tighter
Every morning I get woken up by a happy little guy playing in his crib. All smiles while he looks into the camera and says “mama, mama” over and over. Every day he is excited to get out of his crib, get some grub and run around the house and even more excited if we leave the house to drive around town. But not today… Today was different. Today the big guy didn’t wake up until I went to wake him at 9:49. He wasn’t smiling and he wasn’t playing picaboo with his blankie. Instead he simply handed me the blanket and sat back down. Watching a Child’s Mind Grow
It amazes me every day what this kid of mine does, what he learns, what personality he is developing, everything really! Like take today for instance, he woke up, had some yogurt and then we went to run errands. As long as the car was moving, he was content. He took a small broken-down box to play with him in the car and the entire time of going in and out of the car he was content as long as he could reach his broken-down box. We get home and all I have to say is nap time and he goes straight to his bedroom and waits by the changing…

Porn + Autism
Two words I never thought I’d have to say in the same sentence. I knew there was a chance I’d have to worry about this one day, many, many years down the line with my neurotypical son, but definitely not my autistic son and definitely not now! But guess what….life as always has a way to surprise me and throw me for a loop! I remember when I was growing up and my parents went through this with my older brother and I know how they handled it, but back then it was with magazines, not as accessible as it is nowadays, right in your pocket! I swear it’s everywhere,…

Watching My Boys Together
Brings pure joy to my heart! As some of you might know from my other posts, my older son is autistic, so for him to show interest in his little brother, who I might also add is his half-brother, it’s a huge deal! Honestly, I’m sitting here watching them interact and it is so long overdue! It brings tears to my heart. You see, when we told our older son he was going to have a baby sibling, he showed no interest. Partially because of his autism, but also because the only baby he has been around is his cousin who to be frank is and always has been out…
