The Difference a Pregnancy Can Make

I look down at my growing body and I definitely don’t feel beautiful or gorgeous or even pretty for that matter. I look straight down and see a belly that protrudes way past my solid double D’s. And I see stretch marks all over! Wanna see my feet? I haven’t in at least four months! My face is chubby and oily, they call it “glowing,” but I call it gross! It’s never been this big or this oily! I look at the number on the scale and see a number higher than I’ve ever seen before and I just want to cry! I try on clothes in my closet and…

    Mom Guilt

Lately I’ve been hearing a lot of ladies talk about mom guilt and some have asked me if I’ve ever experienced it. And here’s the truth, yes I have experienced mom guilt. But first, what is mom guilt? Mom guilt is feeling guilty for doing something or not doing something when it comes to your children. For example, being a working mom, leaving your child every day in the care of someone else while you work. Or not working and being home with your baby but feeling like he’s not getting the educational aspect or social interactions he’d be getting if he was at daycare. I’ve felt both! Every day…

How We Are Failing The Younger Generations

Day after day I hear complaints from older generations that the new generation is disrespectful or just a waste of space and time. Well that may or may not be true, but let’s be honest, who’s fault is it? It’s ours! Because us, adults, failed the younger generation. We were responsible for making them into respectable human beings and we failed. Every day when we were trying to be their friends instead of their parents! That’s a fail! When we decided it was too much for their little hearts to lose in a game, so we always let them win or we didn’t keep score, but instead we gave them…

    Baby Fever Anyone?

What is Baby Fever? By definition it is a “colloquial term for the intense desire to have a baby.” But what does that really mean? To parents it’s the fear of their young child wanting to become a parent at an early age. To women who want kids, it’s that time of their life that they feel this constant feeling in their gut that the time for getting pregnant is now. Some call this their “internal clock ticking.” But for others it may mean something completely different. I always heard elders saying “she’s going to get “baby fever” if she baby-sits a well-behaved child.” And I never got it, how…

The Joys of a Teething Baby

A teething baby is hard let’s get that out of the way first. But a teething baby that has their molars coming in earlier than normal, now that’s a freaking nightmare! Yup, you guessed it, that is what I’m dealing with on a daily basis right now. My son is only 16.5 months old. The dentist told us we had about 6 months before this would happen, but guess what! They were wrong!!!! All honesty I should have known, he’s done a lot of stuff early on. But I was hopeful! But now—now I have a cranky toddler who throws himself on the floor for no reason. One who won’t…

    Watching a Child’s Mind Grow

It amazes me every day what this kid of mine does, what he learns, what personality he is developing, everything really! Like take today for instance, he woke up, had some yogurt and then we went to run errands. As long as the car was moving, he was content. He took a small broken-down box to play with him in the car and the entire time of going in and out of the car he was content as long as he could reach his broken-down box. We get home and all I have to say is nap time and he goes straight to his bedroom and waits by the changing…

Hardest Decision of My Life: Becoming a SAHM

Making the decision to become a stay at home mom has been the hardest, but easiest decision of my life thus far. I always knew I didn’t want my children being raised by strangers, but I also knew I didn’t get multiple degrees to stay at home. So what do you do when your baby stops eating and sleeping at daycare? You write your resignation letter. I have been with my job for going on five and a half years. I have a management team that supports and cares about their employees and a working family that notice when you are out. I have a great shift where I get…
